Happy Gilmore 2: Adam Sandler has to rewrite the script after Carl Weathers’ death

This version of Happy Gilmore 2 Adam Sandler, who started working in 2022, looks a lot different than what you see on screen on July 25.

He shared that he and the team had to “rewrite a lot” and they also had to reimagine the whole story.

“We made a lot of mentions about how good the odd numbers are in the movie. That’s the biggest change,” he said.

Although the characters initially disappeared in the first film, Sandler plans to bring the weather back through a series of dream sequences, even introducing new members of the Chubbs family.

“In the first version we came up with, he had a son,” he shared the original draft of the script.

The storyline was eventually cut off by the script before Weathers’ death, but there was always a purpose to get Chubbs back to the screen.
