In a recent conversation between Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham and Richard Bacon of the BBC, Degeneres confirmed her speculation that she was communicating with his wife, Portia de Rossi.
When Bacon asked if the report of the couple’s relocation due to Trump, the former talk show host simply said “yes”.

Initially, DeGeneres and De Rossi initially bought their home at Cotswolds, with the plan being a “part-time home” where they spend about three to four months a year.
The day before their first arrival at the U.S. election, DeGenares said the next day, the couple woke up “our friends had a lot of crying emojis.”
“I was like, ‘He’s joined’. We’re like, ‘We’re here’.”

Although DeGeneres admits that November is not the “ideal time” to arrive in the UK, she does look at the positive side, and she first saw the snow.
Degeneres said that regarding their decision to live in the UK permanently, she and De Rossi have been studying recent actions taken by the Southern Baptist Convention to endorse the reversal of Supreme Court cases and allow same-sex marriage.
“They try to literally stop it from happening in the future and may reverse that,” she told Bacon.

Although the United States is their home, DeGeneres and Rossi appear to be living in the UK, as the star told Bacon they both thought “it’s pretty here.”
“We’re just not used to seeing this beauty. Villages, towns and buildings – everything you see is charming, it’s just a simpler way of life,” she said.

“It’s clean. Everything is better here – the way the animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.
“Potia flew horses here, I have chickens, we have sheep for about two weeks.”
